Throughout my career in Corporate People roles, I’ve met some truly amazing women in leadership—women who are fierce, brave, authentic, and vulnerable. Unfortunately, they haven’t always been embraced or appreciated for the unique perspectives they bring.

I’ve seen women marginalised, ostracised, cheated (and not always by their male counterparts), ignored, and forgotten. Did they deserve this treatment? Absolutely not. But it happened—and it’s still happening in businesses today.

The result? Many of these women started to believe the negative rhetoric. Some became part of the toxic culture, adopting the same harmful behaviors. Others, worn down over months or even years, eventually left.

The problem is, once you’ve been in this toxic cycle, it leaves an imprint. That smile requires more effort. You start questioning your work, your contributions, and your worth. You become more critical of yourself, struggle to spot unhealthy patterns, tolerate being bullied, and believe that setting boundaries makes you “needy.” You feel broken—and sometimes, you don’t even realize it.

How do I empathise with this story? Because I am that story. I’ve hit my personal rock bottom. I’ve experienced the lows, questioned my abilities, and let toxicity rob me of my power—the power only I possess, because there is no one else like me. Just as there is no one else like you.

Now, I’m on a mission to help Women in Leadership reclaim their power. To help you rewrite the story, rebuild your confidence, and step back into the leader you were always meant to be.
